Profit Analytics tools
Amazon profit analytics tools that combine sales, fees, advertising and inventory costs to show true profitability. Compare data accuracy, cost tracking, dashboards and financial reporting.
Three jobs under one label
- Account-level dashboards. sellerboard, from $19/mo, offers a real-time profit dashboard, PPC dashboards and EU VAT reports. Shopkeeper, from $20/mo, keeps profit views simple, covers multiple marketplaces and forecasts payouts, but has fewer integrations and limited PPC analytics.
- Profit per purchase. InventoryLab tracks cost of goods and profit by purchase batch, which suits arbitrage and wholesale sellers. SellerAmp SAS and Seller Assistant calculate profit before an item is bought.
- Pre-launch modelling. Mettra’s financial model estimates margin, ROI and payback period for a product not yet on sale, covering logistics, FBA fees, ads and taxes. It is a planning model rather than account bookkeeping, works on Amazon only and has a younger ecosystem.
Accuracy lives in the inputs
Fees and sales come from Amazon automatically; costs do not. A dashboard reports reliable margins only when cost of goods is entered as landed cost per batch, including freight and duties, and updated when a new batch arrives at a different price. Check how a tool handles changing costs, ad spend allocated per SKU, refunds and reimbursements, and VAT for European marketplaces. Two tools showing different profit for the same month usually disagree on inputs, not arithmetic.
When a separate subscription is redundant
Sellers already on a full suite such as Helium 10 have profit tools included and should test them before paying again. Resellers who buy in lots need per-batch accounting more than a live dashboard. A single-product seller can reconcile monthly settlement reports in a spreadsheet, though that stops being practical as SKUs, marketplaces and ad campaigns multiply.
Common questions
sellerboard or Shopkeeper?
sellerboard is the fuller tool, with PPC dashboards, EU VAT reports and follow-up emails. Shopkeeper has simpler views and payout forecasting, but fewer integrations and limited PPC analytics.
Why does my profit tool disagree with my Amazon payout?
Payouts follow Amazon’s settlement timing, while profit tools assign fees, refunds and costs to the period of the sale. Missing or outdated cost-of-goods entries are the other common cause.
